Make Me Laugh

Today I was introduced to a new (to me) online game similar to the telephone game I would play as a child.  The childhood game was played by having several children sit in a circle.  One child would begin the game by whispering a phrase in the ear of the child next to them.  The phrase would then be repeated by whisper from child to child until the last child heard the phrase, then they would announce what they thought the phrase to be.  Inevitably the phrase would be twisted beyond recognition and hilariously funny.

In the online version, one receives either a picture that they add the phrase to, or a phrase that they draw a picture of.  This is how the game progresses.  At the end of the game the results are emailed to every player.

My cheeks and sides ache from the intense laughter.

A special thank you to Ezekiel and Weasel for finding such a glorious way for me to spend my time.

  1. From Ezekiel:
Here, we call it ‘Chinese Whispers’ – remember the lyric from Depeche Mode? ‘brothers and sisters play Chinese whispers’ I didn’t know what it meant until I moved here. I don’t think it is an appropriate name anymore though.

Speaking of DM – they were on Later w/ Jules Holland last week and they showed footage from 1980 when they were on Top of the Pops – they were incredibly young. Playing ‘New Life’. Wow wow wow! So excited to see them at the end of the month.
